Happy Valentine’s Day loves! Today, leather meets lace in this edgy but sweet combo combining two of my favorite fabrics for a Valentine’s outfit that’s irresistibly sassy n’ sweet. If you don’t already own a leather jacket, I’m telling you now that you really should. Leather jackets are my go-to wardrobe staple for just about anything as they add just the right amount of “chic” to any outfit. Leather jackets are no longer built like boxes where they’re all stiff and uncomfortable, designers have majorly stepped up their leather jacket game and it’s time to get shopping if you haven’t already done so. With such a wide variety of colors and styles it’d be next to impossible not to find the perfect fit for you. Although the jacket featured in this post is from Old Navy, one of my absolute favorite places to shop leather goods is Wilson’s Leather Company at the outlets in Albertville as they constantly are having crazy good deals and offer a vast amount of merchandise to chose from - it’s worth a stop, I promise! Looking at this white lace dress on the hanger you’d never think it could be worn in any other season besides late spring and early summer (let alone February in the chilly negative temps!) and I don’t blame you. I love lace but have to admit that it is one of the trickiest fabrics to work with and pull off. In this case, in order to take these summery whites into the winter chills I added a contrast of colors mixing the whites with darker hues, such as black and burgundy, for a warm mix of divergent pieces. Whether you’re headed to a fancy dinner for two or a wine and desserts type of ordeal, this outfit has you covered with it’s perfect balance of freshly sleek style.

Shag off those winter blues in style with this spectacular shaggy jacket as I’ll admit, it was love at first sight. From the moment I saw this piece I knew it was an absolute MUST have. I’ve been seeing this trend all over Pinterest (seriously my board is full of fluff galore) and knew the second I saw this fabulous coat that this was just the piece I was looking for. Everything about this jacket is pure perfection, from crazy comfort to ultimate uniqueness - this piece makes you stand out for all of the right reasons, it screams, “I’m bold, I know my style and I’m confident” - what more could a girl want? Granted, wearing this around town a got a few strange looks, but in comparison to the amount of compliments and “hey, cool jacket!” comments, the pros certainly outweigh what I would say are the non existing cons. As mentioned, I adore everything about this jacket and would put it down as a wardrobe statement as it can be worn over everything, and I mean everything. Here you’re seeing this look done in no better way than day-to-day casual. These black orchid jeans are the definition of comfort as their fit is naturally perfect. Say goodbye to the mid-afternoon “hike” of the jeans as these pants move with you in every way. And this tee? Absolutely a wardrobe must since who doesn’t need a plain white tee? This jacket is one of those pieces that could easily be taken from day to night since another way I wore this fluffy jacket was more in the inspiration of a “night out.” Paired with a sleek little body suit, a mini leather skirt and some black knee high boots, I instantly transformed this outfit for a fun night out. This is easily one of my new favorite styles of the season for it’s fabulous versatility in options for mixing n’ matching.

Need a little fashion inspo over break or perhaps just want to stay in touch? Follow me on social media (links in bio) and keep an eye out for the lauch of my personal blog "Blonde & Bliss" for the latest in fashion and lifestyle By Jozy Caulfield PC: Anne Paoletti Wrap yourself up in style and stay warm this winter with a classic piece that’ll never go out of style. Poncho’s are a timeless piece that never get’s old (and you’ll see why). They’re cozy pieces that are versatile in just about every way from comfy everyday style to sleek modern elegance. Take a poncho from day to night and see how easy it really is to rock comfort all day long. Ponchos are about as easy as can be when it comes to wearing and styling. They’re easy to grab on the go for a little extra warmth and are perfect for those cool dreary days when it’s not quite chilly enough to wear a coat. Ponchos are a winter wardrobe staple piece and can surprisingly be worn in several different ways. This post, showcases a look that falls right between casual and dolled up, featuring a special look at how you can wear navy and black (yes, I said it) and make the contrast work. Here, I’ve paired my poncho with my favorite pair of basic black skinnies, a sleek navy blue tank, knee high boots (adding an edge), a long simple necklace, and topped it all off with the poncho I found at Forever 21. I wore this look to work and finished the day with dinner downtown - this easy style kept me well dressed for the day’s events without a change in clothes (that’s a win!). Style Tip: Dress up a poncho (literally) by wearing it over a dress! This poncho in particular, could easily be dressed up by pairing with a grey dress, black tights and these knee high boots for a sophisticated take on the poncho trend. Take a peek around stores near you (and perhaps a special look at TJ Maxx, Forever 21 or Macy’s) to find a poncho that’s perfect for you. As winter is here, the search won’t be hard, and before you know it you, too, will be wrapped up in this winter trend. By Jozy Caulfield PC: Anne PaolettiStep aside letterman jackets - the bomber jacket has taken over as it has gradually made its way to campus, transforming the good ole lettermen’s jacket into modern sophistication with golden zippers, shiny fabrics, and slimming cuts. As we know, this season has been terribly difficult to dress for with days ranging from the high 70’s to the lows of 20 degrees . . . where does one even begin to dress for days like that. The conclusion? Bomber jackets; transitional pieces guaranteed to give you just the right amount of coverage and style to stay chic and warm this season without the bulk of a winter jacket. The range of options for wearing bomber jackets is expansive. From a basic tee and leggings to a pair of skinnies and a schnazy top, bomber jackets can be worn in any way you please. My go-to look for wearing bomber jackets is as shown (sneakers, skinnies, crop top, simple statement necklace, and jacket) - a casual and simple look that’s perfect for a day out and about. Trends 101: Fashion Sneakers are SO in and are a trend I’ve grown to love as I’ve replaced outfits I’d normally wear heels with for my adidas sneakers (bought on amazon for $38, a style-steal!) adding comfort to some of my favorite go-to styles. Another popular option for wearing the bomber jacket trend is edgy, modern, and well put together pairing skinnies, a loose fitting top, heels and either a large blanket scarf or statement necklace. This look can take you anywhere from dinner to a night on the town. Looking to find your own perfectly fitting bomber jacket? Local boutiques such as Urban Violet, Primp, and Kittsona, are well stocked on the trend with several options to chose from. Style Tip: Although there are several colors, prints and patterns to chose from; opt for a bomber jacket that is more neutral to get the most use out of the piece - such as solid black, olive green, tan, or grey. For more inspiration check out Pinterest and see how you too can rock the bomber jacket trend! By Jozy CaulfieldLooking for a little something extra to add to your fall/winter wardrobe? Look no further and stop where you are, because here we have the most transitional accessory of the season, floppy wool hats. These adorable pieces scream nothing less than cozy chic as they can be worn both casually to a lunch date or on a stroll through the isles of the city. Either way you chose to pair it your bound to turn heads. Thinking about statement pieces and all that they are, if I had to chose a favorite (although how could I!) I’d have to put floppy wool hats in my top three for sure - up with blanket scarves and chokers of course. These chic pieces are my go-to for adding a little something extra to an outfit. Although there are several options for wearing these cute little hats, one of my favorite styles is pairing my maroon floppy wool hat with some black leather jeggings, a flowy black top, booties, and a slimming black leather jacket. Yet on the other hand, another way I like to wear these hats is for the sole purpose of adding that last little bit of style to a simple outfit such as in the outfit featured. Style Tip: Curl your hair and tie it into a low side pony for a simple-casual look. Right now is the prime time to buy these hats as stores have recently put them out on the shelves for the transitioning of seasons. A majority of my own hats I’ve found at Target, although I’ve seen plenty of other options at H&M, TJ Maxx, Dry Goods and Urban Violet. With endless options of colors and styles, I have no doubt you’ll be able to find your very own floppy wool hat to flatter yourself this season!
By Jozy Caulfield PC: Anne PaolettiHere in Minnesota, we all know that fall doesn’t tend to stick around far too long after October, yet this year, the beautiful weather has full heartedly led us into November allowing us to continue to love the season (and our favorite trends too!) With the transitioning and ever changing weather, it can be tough to know how to dress, which is every reason why I am obsessing over this seasons trench vest trend. Trench Vests are the perfect transitional piece for fall. On their own they’re casually cute and add just the right amount of warmth for this tricky dressing season. Easily paired with anything from short sleeve tees to slimming comfy sweaters, trench vests are just what you need to step up your fall wardrobe. The vests, much like every other trend, add a unique flare to an outfit in their ability to be worn several different ways whether it be tied around the waist, draped over your shoulders, or worn open and loose for an effortlessly “put-together” look. What I love most about trench vests is the diversity of styles, colors, and lengths that they can be found in. The style I am wearing is a traditional look, yet the styling options are near endless. I found my trench vest at T.J. Maxx (surprise, surprise!) although have seen the trend all over from local boutiques such as Urban Violet, Kittsona, and PRIMP to larger stores including (but not limited to) H&M, Express, Macy’s, ZARA, Nordstroms, Lucky, and more. Pairing my trench vest with a sleek and flowy white tee, dark-wash skinnies, peep toe wedges, and a light scarf is my go-to style for wearing my trench vest. This look is perfect for a brunch date or a quick little trip to the mall. Style Tip: Pair with a statement piece, such as a light scarf or a bold necklace, for that last little finishing touch. What’s your styling secret for wearing a trench vest? Share your fashion tips in the comments below! By Jozy CaulfieldShow a little skin this fall, and don’t be the least bit ashamed of it. The cold shoulder style is in and it sure is one of a kind. So go ahead, give ‘em the shoulder and and show off this unique and classy peek-a-boo trend. This summer, we saw the return of off the shoulder tops (and discovered the crazy tan lines they leave too!) as just about everyone seemed to be working the style putting their own twist on the trend. Off the shoulder tops were a hit as they were easy to style from day to night and were versatile in their ability to be dressed up or down, making them a wearable piece for any occasion. Designers and retailers caught on fast, and have blessed us with the trend all over again by carrying the style into the cooler months, but this time have left a little bit more fabric, leaving us with “ the cold shoulder.” The cold shoulder trend, much like the off-the-shoulder style we saw this summer, can be worn in several different ways and for may different occasions too, whether it be a cozy sweater for class or a fitted long sleeve for an evening out. The key to this trend is confidence, and with that, you really can’t go wrong. Ready to hop on the trend? Head on over to your local mall and I can almost guarantee you’ll successfully find a cold shoulder top that’s just right for you as many retailers have begun to carry the trend. For more specifics, shop A'gaci, H&M, Forever 21 and Express. Check out some of my favorite cold shoulder styles (and I’ll admit, I scored all three of these featured tops at TJ Maxx and Marshalls!) and see for yourself just how fabulously unique this trend really is! The long sleeve - easily worn from day to night. Pair with dark wash jeans and little heeled booties for class or dress it up with a pair of leather pants and strappy black heels for a sleek and edgy style. Show a little skin, and perhaps just a little more with this skinny strap top - the ultimate go-to for a girls night out! Pair with black skinny jeans as well as black booties/heels and finish the look off with a statement silver earring. Pull off both cozy and cute with this oversized sweater. Wear it to class with a pair of jeans and boots or lounge around at home with a cup of coffee and pair it with some comfy leggings.
By Jozy CaulfieldThe first time I wore a choker was at my “Josie and the Pussycats” themed birthday party when I turned six. My mom had gone all out for the party making each of my friends and I matching pink cheetah print skirts, kitten ears, and of course, little black chokers. The next time I wore a choker, was halloween in high school when I decided to dress up as a peacock (which is another story in itself), and it wasn’t until this summer, that for the third time in my life, I wore a choker, and suddenly, they’re everywhere, and seem to be staying. Chokers are simple, sleek, and did I mention super-duper cheap? I found my basic choker at Forever 21 for $1.98, a price that is unbeatable when were talking style statements. Although it may be small, and as some may think “nothing special” the choker is a statement piece all on it’s own adding a dramatic last touch to any outfit that just needs a little something more. I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I told you that chokers can be found nearly everywhere, because trust me, they can; Target, H&M, Forever 21, Free People, American Eagle, and Urban Outfitters to name a few, all carry various styles of chokers guaranteed to satisfy your unique choker style. Take a peak below at how I’ve styled some of my favorite choker trends! The Classic: With this classic style, you really can’t go wrong. Pair with anything from a basic tee for a more casual look or dress it up and wear it with an off the shoulder top for a little touch of sass. The Lacey: Take this delicate beauty on the night out and pair with an edgy piece, such as a leather jacket. The Wrap: Edgy and unique, pair this choker with a solid top and stray away from anything too crazy as this wrap necklace speaks for itself. How do you wear your choker? Share your styling tips below - I’d love to hear! By Jozy CaulfieldPumpkin spice and everything nice, fall is finally here and tis the season for sweaters, booties, layering and my absolute favorite, blanket scarves. With prints and colors of every assortment, a blanket scarf is the must-have addition to your fall wardrobe as they pair nicely with just about everything, adding a cozy touch to a fall sweater or a little bit of warmth to a cute vest. I’d be lying if I said these adorable pieces weren’t worth the price as I’ll admit, I own twelve! Like many other fashion staples, these scarves come in many different styles from the traditional rectangle to a gigantic square. Typically, I like to opt for scarves that come in big squares that make it easy to fold and wrap into cute chunky bundles (not sure how to wrap? - it’s easy! Check out the how-to below.) Luckily for you, blanket scarves are an easy find as they are sold at just about every big retailer. I have already seen several stores this fall selling these classic fall staples; Target, H&M, Forever 21, Old Navy and GAP are some of the larger retailers but on a local scale, check out Heartbreaker in Uptown and Urban Violet in NE Minneapolis. Grab some coffee and support these local stores, and ultimately, find your perfect fall scarf! . . . (P.s. for all you online shoppers, be sure to check out amazon and Lulu's for some super cute options! I advise to read comments and reviews prior to purchasing for the best results.) Found that perfect scarf? Great! Here’s a few tips and tricks to get the most out of your new scarf. 1. Classic The simplest and most common way of wearing a blanket scarf. Fold the square diagonally to make a triangle, drape the scarf over your neck with the ends facing the back, cross the ends behind your neck an pull forwards bringing the two ends to the front. Style Tip: Make ends meet Clean up the classic loose style and make ends meet by taking the ends of the scarf hanging in front, tie into a knot, and tuck behind the main triangle of the scarf to create a handkerchief look. 2. Shawl Effortlessly casual, another quick and easy option for making the most out of your blanket scarf, simply fold the scarf into a big triangle, wrap around your body and drape the ends over your forearms. Style Tip: Dress it up! Take the shawl to another level with a skinny belt! Instead of draping the ends over your forearms, let the ends hang loose in the front, take a belt and wrap it around your waist, fastening in the front. How do you wear your blanket scarf?
