By Anni CaylorWhen finals are over and my life is easy and I have nothing to actually worry about, my biggest concern becomes what I do when it’s too warm for a sweater but not warm enough for a tank top. I know it might sound trivial, but apparently it’s a big enough concern for me that when I bought my first kimono I felt like all of my problems were solved. I just don’t even know where to start with kimonos, and I really don’t fully understand yet how they are able to make any outfit drastically cooler. Whether they’re long or short or light or dark or trimmed with lace or trimmed with fringe you will instantly look like you spend your days listening to cool music and drinking iced coffees in the park (if that’s what you’re going for, I don’t know). Basically, if you don’t have a kimono I would suggest getting one stat, especially now that beautiful weather is here to stay (hopefully). There really aren’t any rules with kimonos. You can wear them with shorts, jeans, dresses or skirts. I think my favorite part about them is also that for some (also magical; also unknown) reason it doesn’t matter if traditionally the pattern of your top and the pattern of your kimono would clash, for some reason it just works. So go forth, mix and match to your heart’s content, and allow yourself to finally be the perfect temperature no matter what.
