It may be only 20 degrees outside, but that should not stop anyone from putting some color into their outfits. Scrolling through your recent photos, I am sure that there is a surplus of black, grey, and white. Therefore I challenge you to still go for the typical black sweater, but to also be able to pop in some new colors. Try something outside of your comfort zone! You can start small with accessories. Medium sized coral earrings for example can add a spark to your outfit. Or, try a pair of brighter socks to wear with sneakers or loafers. I have even see some people start to wear socks with heels. Adding some color will not only make you think outside the box, but it will also give people the illusion that your wardrobe is larger than it is. When people see you in neutral after neutral, all of the silhouettes, and colors start to blur together. But when you pair some bright shoes with the sweater, or mint green pants, it will help to differentiate the ensemble vs. another day throwing on the black leggings or jeans. My pop of color: Bright Yellow Heels I fell in love with this Who What Wear dress at Target. I am in a product development class that works with Target Headquarters PD team. Therefore we were interviewing ready to wear shopping customers for a few hours. After making numerous laps around the apparel section I just could not say no to this dress! It is a great staple piece because it is very versatile. It can be a piece to wear out casually, when you want to dress up a little for class, or even work. You can button up the collar all the way to give it a more crisp look, or unbutton a few to give the collar a more relaxed feel. Who What Wear’s color scheme at target consisted of navy, white, cream, black, and yellow. The yellow throughout their merchandise assortment was more mustard, or a lighter shade than my shoes. Their yellows made me realize that I had some yellow in my closet as well. I got these heels off of Amazon, and they are by the brand with the logo of a cursive D with a heart. (I threw away the box, and there is no name on the shoes!) There are so many different cute yellow heels all over amazon for great prices, I highly recommend browsing through to get inspiration. Other accessories include a Marc Jacobs black and gold bangle which contrasts against the navy, with a crystal statement ring both from Saks Fifth Avenue OFF Fifth. I also used this cute black envelope booklet with gold zipper details. It doubles as looking like a clutch, with the functionality of a notebook. This week: Get out there and add some color to your wardrobe
